PAINS AND PLEASURES OF SOCIAL LIFE 1.0
"I always feel a sort of ‘tough realism’ when confronted with Elena’s drawings. A particular attitude for this kind of visionary concreteness/realism, occasionally very raw and carnal, that deals with so much Russian literature from the nineteenth century also emerges from them. Newscasts, scientific books and magazines are therefore the origins of the artist’s drawings and posters. Elena’s drawings are exercises in tenacity and intransigence, synthesis and concision: they eliminate any superfluous elements; they give a concrete image to an item of news even when it borders on the impossible or the most complete abstraction."
Davide Ferri
Below are the titles of some articles, collected from scientific magazines, topical web sites and books. All these titles became the titles of drawings and make up an important part of the drawings.
